Setting up your TomTom to get Audible Warnings

| Next click on "Warn when near POI" | ![]() |
| Now select your POI category. Click the down scroll arrow to see the list of POI categories. Continue scrolling down until you see "Spot It Out - Red Light..." and similar POI categories. Choose one. | ![]() ![]() |
| Next you'll be asked when you'd like to be warned. This controls how close you need to be to a warning location. The default is 300 yards. | ![]() |
| Next you can select an audible warning. If you select "Spoken Warning" you hear the name of the POI category, "Spot It Out Red Light Camera". You can choose a Sound Effect like a Bell, Beep, Boing, Bugle, Cow, Cuckoo or Polite sound for a warning. Or you can customize your warning by selecting "Type in your own warning" and the word(s) you type will be said. | ![]() ![]() |
| The final step is to decide if you want the warnings only if on your route. You will get audible warnings even if you haven't selected a route. We recommend leaving the "warnings only on route off", but keep the warning range fairly close. If you set the range at a long distance you could get warnings for locations not on the road you are currently traveling. | ![]() |
|
Repeat these steps for each POI category for which you want an audible warning. Your map screen should now get both a visual and audible warning as you travel.
